Ellie Glantz is best known for her captivating and soulful renditions of song and prayer for Jewish Liturgy, both in the synagogue and on the concert stage. As the former Cantorial Soloist & Music Director at Temple Israel (Ottawa), she designed the musical program and officiated at all High Holy Days services, major festivals, as well as life-cycle events. Presently, she leads the music repertoire for selected services and the High Holy Days at Congregation Temple Beth Israel.
Ellie was the dynamic force behind the formation and leadership of Shir Chadash Ottawa, a reform worship group that gathered for inspirational Kabbalat Shabbat Services.
Ellie is a member of the Ewashko Singers, a chamber ensemble under the direction of Director Laurence Ewashko, Capital Chamber Choir under the baton of Jamie Loback and the National Arts Centre’s Festival Chorus where she regularly performs a wide range of choral music under direction of numerous world-class conductors.
As a soloist, ensemble singer and liturgical musician, Ellie has studied with some of the finest teachers in Ottawa.
